JAWS are approaching their 20th game together and in the past month, there has been many new things going on. A team of coaches has been form to guide the team to greater heights: Jabar, Faiz, Ismadi and Din have stepped up to take the challenge to offer something different other than just playing football. However, due to the transition of new people to take the role of managing team selection and tactics, it will take a lot of adapting for players and also patience for to see the positive impact in the long run.

As i am writing this, another team of JAWS has stayed up all night to get this brand new website ready for the team. Ming, Faiz, Dicky, Im and myself has been putting in lots of hard work until now at almost 9am just to launch the website. We have encounter countless problems and i certainly hope that we will get it done by the time we have our game later at Sengkang. Thanks a lot to all of them to all the hard work and sacrificing their sleep for the team!

Some important updates for all the players to take note is all players will need to pay $8 for every game. The change is mainly to gather more funds in order for the team to enter a social league in the near future. As majority of the team are either NSF or students, we hope to gather more support from them also.

As for our current form, we have been a bad run of games after 3 losses in a row. This is expected due to the players adjusting to new selections and tactics. As mentioned, i urged everyone to stay focused and not be discouraged to the bad results.

''There are positives drawn from these setbacks as players with passion for the team stood out to be counted. I hope that everyone stay patient as the coaches need games and time to bring out the best in the team.''

With that mentioned, i will still be overseeing every department from the websites maintenance to the on-pitch issues. I also managed to identify a few players that could possibly be Captains for the team in future. It is very nice to have a team of coaches who have choose to take up some responsibility in this team.

Feedbacks from all members of JAWS SC are key to what makes this team happy and towards a better future. We are now fighting a minor storm that also serves as a test to our determination for success! Being JAWS, we shall always respond by what our motto says: Going for the Win!

JAWS Forever,

After 10 games, JAWS achieved 5 wins, 1 draw and 4 losses. We managed to finally get our very first team kit and the team is really starting to show its potential with each game. We are still only 2 months old and please remind yourself that there is much room for improvement in all aspects of JAWS: Management, Sponsorships, On-field issues, Commitment, Communication and so on….

At this time, i like to take the opportunity to reveal some positive things abour JAWS SC that most of the team may not be aware of. As mentioned in the home page, we will try to get a personal web address of www.jawssc.com and develop a much more interactive website for JAWS. In terms of players’ commitment, there has been a much needed improvement of at least 20 passionate players that has shown in terms of attendances and contributions. We are constantly attracting players from everywhere asking if they can play in our team. Every week, i have people asking me if they can join JAWS SC. In terms of playing style, JAWS only got the ball rolling as players are slowly getting to know one another and feel more comfortable with each game.We have received an invitation to join Singapore’s most successful social league but due to lack of team funds and sponsorship, we might decided to delay the idea of joining a league just yet.

''The heart and soul of JAWS is each and everyone of you that turn up on match days to contribute in the growth of the team. Without your efforts and contribution, JAWS will be nothing but just a name.''

Hereby, i encourage the players to mingle and interact as much as possible when possible. Little groups of players that show no interest in the rest of the team is very discouraged from the management’s point of view. We play soccer to learn skills, create meaningful relationships and make the best out of our weekends together. Due to the players’ characteristics, i understand that bonding as a team will take time and hopefully we shall grow into a cohesive social team that we take pride in getting involved with in future!

There are proposed suggestions of getting an overseas game, having a JAWS chalet for bonding and even occasional Karaoke sessions that will be made possible if everyone is interested. With positive responses, i hope to organise these events for everyone to have a good time. As for the time being, i want to thank, yet again, all members of JAWS SC that played a part in the growth of JAWS SC. I can confidently say that after 10 games, we stick to our motto of ”Going for the Win” every time we play and hope to get those players that yet to wear their new kits as early as possible!

Yours Truely,

Ayyub Kay

Greetings to all,

After last week’s 2nd consecutive win, JAWS look to be on a roll and i can sense the high morale amongst everyone. This is a great sign that we are all in the right direction.

For the past 2 weeks, Hansen and myself are on a look-out for the best deals for our new team kit! Recently, i also pulled some strings to find out what Johor Bahru has. However, nothing is concrete so far. In Singapore, to get a set of Adidas kit will cost up to at least S$50-$60. In Malaysia, we can get about S$30 which is about half the amount! So, i will like to enquire if everyone in JAWS are up for a new team kit? I will like to get the team kit ready by June if possible, hence, if you guys are agreeable, you can start paying for the jerseys. We will like to start collecting an amount of S$30 for each player first. This can be done in instalments too. At the same time, i will need to know what name and number you guys want. For the numbers, please give 3 options, from the most preferred to the least as i will do my best that if you dont get your 1st choice, at least you will get either the 2nd or 3rd choice.

Please try to get back to me ASAP so that we can finally wear our very own JAWS kit soon!

Thanks and Regards,

Ayyub Kay

Date: 28th March 2009 (Sat)

Welcome to the brand new blog for JAW S.C.! For the latest news, player profiles, match reports and even statistics, this is the right place for all JAW S.C. players!

Firstly, i will like to thank every player that will be turning up for our debut tomorrow morning@ Commonwealth Secondary! Whether if you are invited by myself, friends or even family members, tomorrow marks the BIRTH of JAW S.C.! And whoever present tomorrow is a part of a newly formed family to share the best experiences of football every weekend!

From the current confirmed number of players stands at 14, which is really positive. However, the real challenge will be after that if the attendance will stay healthy. As for the financial requirements for players will be as followed :

Working Adults: $10

Students/ NSF: $5            (both amounts as required per game)

Each friendly will cost up to $80-$100 depending on the venue. I will like to highlight that excess amount of money will be put into the team fund. An extra step will be taken to key in the financial inflows/outflows into soft-copy and will be updated weekly. All these records are to ensure the integrity of the treasurer and also available for checks/audits requested by players/team members when in doubt.

On a last note, i will continue to make this team blog more user friendly and be filled with pictures and other interesting stuffs so that players can interact online with each other. Besides having the players, i am fortunate to have my girlfriend (Ryn) to snap our pictures every week! Match reports will be updated and statistics will be available too.

Looking forward to meeting everyone tomorrow morning, for those unsure of venue, please click on the venue page.

Thanks and Regards,

Ayyub Kay (JAWS manager )
