Coming into this game, a lot were at stake as JAWS face off Question Mark in the top of table clash of ESPZEN Division 8. As JAWS got together to huddle prior to kick-off, they were reminded of their tasks and what they have set out to do. Game on! Question Mark drew first blood from a corner kick, capitalizing on a defensive mix up. However it did not took long for JAWS to respond as JAWS found an equalizer from a freekick. Faiz's long teasing ball into the box found Ming, who cooly slotted the ball in the back of the end. The equalizer re-junevated JAWS as Question Mark were caught by surprise as Shahrul passed to Ayyub who drive the ball from long range into goal. 2-1 JAWS! Minutes later, Ayyub found Ayat dancing on the edge of the penalty box only to unleash a vicious left footed strike which was fizzed into the top corner of the goal! 3-1 to JAWS! 2 goals in quick succession as JAWS were in their groove going into half time. However, Question Mark replied straight away with a goal to silence the Jaws supporters. HISSHAM FOR MING. HT: 3-2 to JAWS!

2nd Half: Is, Kiran (C), Faiz, Chee Hui, Rajiv, Syahrul, Zul, Jamadil, Hissham, Din, Ayat

Both teams battled to get the upperhand in the 2nd period but Question Mark found it hard to break down a stiff and mean JAWS defence. When Question Mark got 2 chances to have a shot at goal, both times were met with shot wide. Then, came the defining moment of the game. Is came up with a splendid reflex save when Question Mark top scorer shot from close range with goal all written in it. The reactions of Question Mark players to that save paved the way for Jaws to capitalise later on. DIKI FOR SYAHRUL. SHIM FOR RAJIV. SHAQ FOR JAMADIL. SHAIK FOR CHEE HUI. AYYUB FOR DIN. With players tiring, Shim took centre stage to unleash his pace and eagerness to penetrate their defence. In the process, Shim made a telling pass to Shaq just outside the box and the latter took a touch forward and placed his shot perfectly into the near post! 4-2 to JAWS. DARRYL FOR KIRAN. MING FOR HISSHAM. Loud cheers were heard from the Jaws family as the final whistle blew and certainly, Jaws have gained the upperhand and momentum to the title decider with just 3 games to go. FT: 4-2 to JAWS.

All in all, every player performed their roles with great commitment and purpose. Shaq finally netted his maiden goal for Jaws while Is came up with probably his biggest save for the team. Syahrul impressed everyone with his no-nonsense style and quick decisive passes while Faiz showed everyone that from his play, his heart is certainly with Jaws all along. Although Din didnt trouble their keeper, he did very well to unsettle their defence with his robust play while Shaik and Shim really hurt them with their energy and overlapping runs. Both Ayyub and Ayat scored again while paired together and Hissham continued to display his precise through balls to the forwards. Jamadil didnt score, but he clearly displayed his close ball technique and good movement which are crucial for midfielders. Kiran showed that he is easing into his best form and reminded everyone that Jaws Captain is ready to lead the charge for the final 3 games. Chee Hui battled like a warrior and Diki played like a veteran midfield general with conviction. All the other players didnt disappoint and the support from Hazirah, Yana, Shakilah, Blank123 ( Syahrul's peeps) and Ismadi were very much appreciated. Jabar and Shim must also take credit for taking charge while the Gaffer was playing. Im, Khai, Mamat, Bazli and Rusdi were all not forgotten for their relentless support despite not being able to play. Fantastic all round performance and the cohesiveness of Jaws family were all there to see and to be felt. 

Jaws might have won their battle, but the war is still there to fight in the next remaining 3 league games and this Sunday's FA Cup Round 2 game! Question Mark FC will be going for revenge against Jaws during our next league game 1.5 weeks from now. Jaws will have to remained FOCUSED and DISCIPLINED to do well! Key to victory is to have proper and sufficient rest day before games and continue displaying our teamwork. From this recent game, Jaws will have a much needed confidence during the remaining games. When you believe, the possibilities are limitless and there's nothing stronger than having JAWS fighting as a family. Let's make it a great finish to our 1st encounter in ESPZEN and continue to improve together! Cheers!
